Azuchi Castle Museum (the "House of Nobunaga")
  A top part of the outstanding but lost castle of Azuchi, a visionary famous castle built by Nobunaga in 1576, was replicated and opened to the public. The brilliant appearance with gilded roof tiles and end tiles in the shape of a "shachihoko" are said to have been introduced to Europe in those days>

Yume-Kyobashi Bridge Castle Road
  In a recaptured town of the Edo Period, along the road extending from Kobashi Bridge over a moat of Hikone Castle, you will find unique souvenir shops, restaurants and theme pavilions in the atmosphere of a castle town. All of them are so unique that you will want to visit one by one.

Hikone Castle
  One of the four existing nationally treasured castles. It was a residence of the Hikone Clan Ii family, famous for Naosuke Ii who brought to an end to the isolationism of the Edo Period. You will find lots of things to see such as the rock walls called Gobouseki, three-storied donjon with a curved roof beautifully harmonized with the stonewalling, a Daimyo garden called "Genkyuen" and other items of interest.

Traditional town of Gokasho
  Gokasho, the land of carrying pole, was a cradle of renowned Omi merchants. There still found many beautiful houses fitted with a warehouse beautifully decorated with ship-plank walls and white walls. The birthplace of novelist Shigeru Tonomura and a mansion of an Omi merchant are opened to the public and introducing a life in those days.

Koto-Sanzan
Saimyoji Temple
  One of the three Tendai-sect temples called Koto-Sanzan located in the foot of Mt. Suzuka. Its main hall and three-storied pagoda are designated as national treasures. Also famous are the scarlet-tinged autumn leaves and cherry trees called "Fudanzakura" that blossom out in autumn. A garden of scenic beauty desinaged by government is also worth seeing.>

Kongorinji Temple
  One of the three Tendai-sect temples called Koto-Sanzan located in the foot of Mt. Suzuka. There is a main hall, a nationally treasured three-storied pagoda, and a garden designated as an important cultural asset. The scarlet maple leaves called "blood-red maple leaves" found here are also famous.>

Hyakusaiji Temple
  This temple is the oldest among the Koto-Sanzan, the three Tendai-sect temples at the foot of Mt. Suzuka. An elegant and superb garden uses the surrounding landscape of Mt. Suzuka as a part of it. From a lookout platform you can enjoy the rural scenery down below and breathtaking view of the mountain range far away.
