Lake Biwa, the largest freshwatre body in Japan from time immemorial has been nurturimg its natural life. Shiga prefecture is a lake country that preserves the beautiful nature surrounding Lake Biwa and deeply appreciates its historical cultural heritage which has developed along with the lake.
